CERC Copying Services

In light of recent government’s announcement regarding the outbreak of coronavirus the National Church Institutions have closed both Lambeth Palace Library and Church of England Record Centre.

All staff are currently working from home.

At the moment the only images we are able to provide are the existing ones, therefore both LPL/CERC won’t be accepting orders for new photography. We sorry about any inconvenience this may cause you.

The Record Centre can provide a range of copying services. However, the type of copy which can be supplied may depend on the format and condition of the original as the preservation of material for future generations is the Record Centre's overriding concern.  Where a surrogate of a record exists, we will normally create copies from that surrogate for preservation reasons. The provision of copies is also subject to copyright considerations.

As much of CERC's holdings is uncatalogued, to request copies, please send an initial enquiry by post or email, stating the document references. The Record Centre will then advise on format, cost and payment.

Readers visiting the Record Centre may undertake self-service photography with their own equipment. Such photography is permitted subject to the purchase of a daily photography licence (£5). Permission to photograph items is at the reading room supervisor's discrection and will depend on the condition of the documents and other restrictions. Please see the reading room supervisor or contact us in advance of a visit for further information. A permit for the day purchased at the Record Centre is valid at Lambeth Palace Library, and vice versa.
